Interlibrary Loan system (ILL) allows Hatboro Library patrons access to far more materials than any one library could possibly hold. It’s based on a general agreement among participating libraries to make materials available to other member libraries upon request.
Please search our catalog for the title. If you don’t find it, you can submit your request online through your Hatboro Library account. You can access your account through our catalog homepage (https://hatboro.biblionix.com/catalog/). Or, you may contact the library staff for assistance in placing a request. We are unable to place requests for Best Sellers and newly published titles.
The time it takes to receive an ILL varies. Please be patient and understand that the steps required in completing an ILL include; locating a library who owns the item and is willing to lend it, and whether the requested item is checked out to another patron. Once your request becomes available for pick-up at our library, you will be notified by telephone, text or email.
The lending library determines the length of the loan. Some libraries will allow a renewal. If renewal isn’t possible, we can try to borrow the item from another library.
Interlibrary loan items must be returned to the Hatboro Library.
You will be billed an amount named by the lending library if materials are returned damaged or if the item is lost. Occasionally, an item will arrive from a lending library that is damaged or worn. Our staff will make a notation on the paperwork if any part of the book is damaged. You should examine the item carefully before checking out and report any additional damage that may have gone unseen to the circulation staff.
