Benefits of becoming a shareholder:
- Personalized experience: Shareholders will receive a personalized share certificate.
- Invitations: Shareholders are invited to exclusive events, lectures, and exhibition openings.
- Discounts: Shareholders will receive discounts on special programs/book sales.
- Newsletter: Shareholders will receive the Library Company’s periodic newsletter, The Union Post.
- Annual Report: Shareholders will receive the Library Company’s annual report.
- Annual Meeting: Shareholders are invited to the Annual Meeting and can vote for Board of Trustees appointments.
- Committees: Shareholders are invited to serve on special library committees such as the following: Property Committee, Personnel Committee, Strategic Planning, Financial Committee, Archives & Special Collections Committee, Policy & Procedures Committee, etc.
- Presenters/Speakers: Shareholders are invited to share their talents and skills in creating, presenting, or instruction of new programs at the library. We are always looking for new programs and ideas.
- Board Members: To be nominated & elected to the Charter Board, you must be a shareholder first. Shareholders who have served (or distinguished themselves) on committees may be nominated to the advisor council or charter board.
Volunteer
Volunteers play a significant role at the Union Library by providing valuable assistance to library staff and customers. Our goal is to place volunteers in areas that will provide a meaningful experience for you, while contributing to the library’s service in the most effective way possible.
Whether you are looking for an ongoing volunteer opportunity or are just interested in helping out with a special event, we value your interest in serving our community through library service.
